Bad News for NSAIDs and Celebrex?
The truth about Celebrex and other NSAIDs

The New England Journal of Medicine has recently reported that new arthritis drugs, particularly Celebrex, can lead to serious, or even fatal, complications. Celebrex is in a new class of NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) called COX-2 inhibitors, designed to decrease the chance of getting GI tract bleeding or ulcers, symptoms common with taking other NSAIDs. Unfortunately, the FDA has received reports that 10 people have died while taking Celebrex and 11 more have been hospitalized for gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding since the drug has been available. This rate is substantially lower than that of other NSAIDS (Ibuprofen, aspirin). More than 100,000 hospitalizations and more than 16,000 deaths occur every year due to NSAID-related complications. NSAIDs can also elevate blood pressure, interfere with hypertension medicine, and cause kidney problems.

Many doctors are recommending safe, effective natural remedies for arthritis, such as Glucosamine. While NSAIDS only mask the pain, Glucosamine actually helps heal joints and promote lasting relief of pain and inflammation.
