ImmunoSense FAQ's
  • What is ImmunoSense?
ImmunoSense is concentrated animal immune proteins consisting of 45% IgG, 10% other immunoglobulins, 7.5% Transferrin and other immunoproteins such as “C” complement proteins and Mannose Binding Lignans (MBL). This is a potent combination of the key elements of both the innate immune system (immunoglobulins) and the Complement System (C proteins and MBL). The immunoglobulin neutralizes a host of pathogens and viruses while the Complement System can kill on direct contact.
  • Where is ImmunoSense made?
The main ingredient in ImmunoSense is manufactured in a $7.5 million dollar state of the art fractionation plant in Iowa, USA. This plant produces both pharmaceutical grade serum albumin and supplement grade immunoglobulin concentrate.
  • When taken orally, do the immunoproteins in ImmunoSense survive their passage through the stomach’s very acidic environment?
It has been scientifically shown using a pig model that approximately 51% of the immunoglobulin survives the stomach and reaches the intestines. About 20% of the ingested immunoglobulin remains bioactive throughout its passage through the body.
  • Can animal derived immunoglobulin be effective in the human gut?
The answer is not only yes but even more so. The bioactivity of the immunoglobulin and other immunoproteins present in ImmunoSense is not host dependent. It is, however, pathogen dependent. An animal is exposed to a much harsher bio-environment that the average human. As a result, the animal’s immune system must be more vigorous and better adapted to resist the full spectrum of pathogens that it meets compared to the average human. These are, for the most part, the same pathogens that can find their way into the human body.
  • Is there any scientific evidence that ImmunoSense does kill or neutralize pathogens?
Pathogen titer testing shows that immune protein concentrate in ImmunoSense is effective against a variety of pathogens like E. coli, salmonella, listeria, c. deficile, corona virus, rota virus, and many more. Pathogen Titer testing is an acceptable means of demonstrating efficacy against specific pathogens.
  • Why should you orally add immunoglobulin to the GI Tract?
Approximately 70 to 80% of all pathogens that enter the body do so through the mouth and GI Tract. In response, the immune system supplies up to 5 grams per day of immunoglobulin specifically to the GI Tract. Immunoglobulin is a major component of your first line of defense against incoming disease causing bacteria and viruses. The stress of modern life, large crowds, lack of sleep, poor nutrition, travel, old age and general poor health has significant impact on the immune system’s ability to perform. These factors can substantially reduce the body’s ability to defend itself by decreasing immunoglobulin production. Supplementing with oral immunoglobulin is a fast and immediate way of sending in the reinforcements. Supplemental oral immunoglobulin can make a huge, same day difference and is an excellent means of maintaining a healthy immune system.
  • How much should you take and are there any side effects?
The recommended daily maintenance dosage is 500 to 1,000 mg. When challenged, increase the dosage to 1,500 to 3,000 mg per day. Nutritionally, ImmunoSense is essentially all protein and there are no known side effects.
  • Are there any restrictions on its use or other known safety issues?
Oral immunoglobulin is effective in maintaining a healthy GI Tract in individuals of all ages. Since the bioactive immunoproteins are not absorbed into the blood stream unless they are first denatured and metabolized as regular protein, there is no threat to the organism. Children, adults, seniors and even pregnant women are not at risk. Nor are there any known drug interactions. Although we are not aware of any reported allergenic reactions, should such a reaction occur after taking ImmunoSense immediately stop taking the product and consult with your health care provider.
  • Does ImmunoLin®’s ability to strengthen the immune system pose potential problems for people with autoimmune diseases?
The answer is not only “No’ but the exact opposite is true. People with autoimmune disorders can benefit most from orally consuming ImmunoSense®. ImmunoSense® is a passive immunity product, which is one where immune components, usually antibodies, are passed from one that is immune to another who has naive or compromised immunity. Since the immunoglobulin is already being supplied by the supplement, the gut-associated immune system does not need to be stimulated to produce more. Supplementation with ImmunoSense® is, therefore, a direct method of strengthening immunity, with no natural immune response required.  Immune activation is actually reduced by consuming ImmunoSense® which is a huge benefit to people suffering from autoimmune disorders.
  • Does oral supplementation with ImmunoSense® affect the body’s natural production of immunoglobulin in any way?
In individuals with hyperactivation of the immune system, the oral consumption of IgG may result in lower circulating levels of IgG, IgM and IgA.  For example, inflammation leads to increased gut permeability and the absorption of immune stimulating substances in the gut.  Reducing the "translocation" of these substances by orally supplementing with ImmunoLin® will help with the control of the inflammatory state and the body’s own immunoglobulin production may come down to normal levels.  We have found no evidence of lower IgG concentrations in healthy adults or children receiving immunoglobulin orally.
